reached slightly b4 8pm, yet the reception refused to admit us saying if we admit b4 8:30pm there will be another day charge, so we waited.
finally went up to my ward, and found out from nurse that we should insist on coming at 8pm as dr choo alr arranged with the nurses to start induction at 8pm. the nurse says she will complain abt the reception. lol
anyway, so started monitoring heartbeat and then those normal QnA... so...
2130-finally inserted the first tablet. nurse says cervix soft but not open... hmmm thought dr choo says she can insert 1 finger the other time? anyway wait lo...
2245- another nurse came took the ctg away and ask me to watch if I have contractions or discharge if not the next tablet will be inserted at 4am.
2300- no signs just feel like poo-ing but didn't manage to do so. watched tv and then rest...
0400- nurse came in put me on ctg and inserted 2nd tablet. this nurse insert slightly painful. but ok took quite long. she say she feels cervix is soft and can insert finger and feel baby's head is v low but... not dilated yet. still need to wait. seems like the little boy and mummy's cervix is taking own sweet time.
0500- starting to feel slight contractions quite regularly but not sure is it I wanna poo... :((
0520- took ctg off, baby is active and quite abit of contractions monitored. nurse say will clear my bowels at 6am. the hubby is super sound asleep snoring away... poor him...
0600- nurse came and insert saline water. think I really wanna poo. think 2mins after she insert I went toilet.
0630- eat light breakfast of toast and milo. starting to feel some contractions too.
0715- starting to feel contractions every 5mins. and the pain is starting to set in.. so this is contraction pain! :O (the hubby is snoring away still... ) nurse says May send me to delivery ward ard 8plus am. will see how...
0830- went down to labor ward feeling quite a bit of contractions and backache.
0900- after all QnA, dr choo came. she checked and said I'm dilated ard 3cm and then she broke the water bag... oh my the gush of warm water...
0915- epidural was given as I was to be put on drip to make dilation faster. so the dr came and gave me epidural, it's quite painful when dr inject the epidural into my spine.
0935- was on drip and everything went painless and I'm getting sleepy. dr choo will only come n check again at 11am. so, I shall then take a nap. hopefully dilation by then would be good!
1130- nurse came to drain out urine and also check for dilation. it's still 3cm...
1350- dr choo came and check said that although still 3cm but baby head is lower and cervix is shorter. hopefully the cervix will open up more..
1450- nurse change shift and new nurse came and insert a tube to drain out urine. hoping that dilation will speed up by then.
1500- keep telling little darling to help mummy! I really don't wanna end up having c sect!
1650- Dr choo came by checked and unfortunately it's still 3cm and dr choo told me that I need to go for CSect as baby's head is stuck at the cervix opening and is probably too big thus my cervix cannot open further. she doesn't want me to stay in labor anymore as she said we won't progress and baby will be in stress soon. I have no choice but go c sect. at that moment I'm in self doubt, v emotional and cried. luckily hubby was there and assured me it's nv my fault for this. Dr choo also keep telling me the c sect is gonna be fine and would be the best option now.
1700- gotten ready for c sect. pushed to OT.
1720- top up of epidural and checked that everything is ready by the nurses and dr choo keep holding my hands and tell me not to worry! glad she's so assuring!
1740- baby raynor cried for the 1st time and Dr choo said congratulations, I tear! my darling boy is finally out!
1745- baby was brought to me and I hugged him for the first time. the feeling was amazing! baby weigh 3.575kg. :)
1850- finally back at the ward. my parents in law came. mil teared! iyo she was worried sick. and she super xin tong that I had to go thru such hard labor. felt so loved.
1915- baby raynor tried to latch on and clever boy can latch on so well! :)
1930- baby tired alr don't wanna suckle anymore. so the elders came and they carried him and took pictures. while I'm busy announcing to the "whole world" the birth of my darling boy!
2300- still on drip so no intake of food. raynor was sent back to nursery as I needed the rest badly.
was glad everything went well in the end! hoping for a quick recovery of wound that's all!
